Sugar Snap Peas (Pisum sativum)
Organic, open-pollinated seed from High Mowing
Sugar snap peas are one of our favorite spring crops! Sugar Ann yields tasty round pods on 2 foot vines. They make a great fresh garden snack, addition to salads, or ingredients in a stir fry. Harvest when pods are 2.5-3 inches and full, 2-3 times per week.
- 58 days to maturity
- 1 oz seed per packet
- Packet will sow 10 ft
Planting Tips: Peas are cool season annuals. Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked in the spring. Use a pea inoculant to ensure nitrogen fixation. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 65-75'F, but seed will germinate in soils as cold as 40'F. Provide trellis support and pick regularly for increased yields. See the pea production guide for more info.
